February 8th officially becomes Taraji P. Henson Day…February 8th has now been officially inducted as Taraji P. Henson Day. The 48-year-old award-winning star actress was awarded the one of a kind honor on Friday afternoon at the Office of the Mayor in Washington, D.C.
Mayor Muriel Bowser gave Taraji a declaration to the City of Washington and formally officiating the day in her honor for her philanthropic work to the city.
To fully express her enthusiasm, Taraji took on her Instagram, saying;
“And then THIS HAPPENED!!!! I am just so honored?? From an #aroundthewaygirl with dreams, I thank you @mayor_bowser and the entire city for riding with me for all of my life!!! ?? #GodIs ?????.”
However, last week, the Empire thespian, Taraji P. Henson is also the current recipient of a star that was unmasked Monday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a recognition that she calls “surreal.”
The ‘Empire’ star delivered an encouraging speech about how she believes the next generation of female actresses won’t have to “fight” to get the juicy roles as she has experienced throughout her 18-year career.
